  2. First of all let me thank the whole committee for this website development. It has been long awaited by many of us and well wishers of FDC.

The flag bearer campaign for 2011 presidential election is health one and we shouldn’t worry about the division in the party. This is to challenge the NRM party of having one unopposed leader all the time.
We need to be the examplary so that we can bring the change we need in the country.

To the flag bearers of the presidential campaign 2011, always bear in mind that our motto is “One Uganda, one People” and the Country’s motto is “For God and my Country”.

We need to come out of this 25 years of Musevenism by 2011.

Thanks to all the Ugandans and well wishers

  3. Let the campaigns be as clean as possible.
Let the campaigns be publicized as much as possible for the world to see the persecutions by those in government on a peace arrangement. The persecutors need to be beaten at their own game.

  4. Blog Entry LEADERSHIP EFFECTS ON THE POOR AND NEEDY PEOPLE Jul 12, ‘09 10:57 AM
    for everyone

Why are we wasting our time to bring down governments with bad leadership other than investing our efforts in small leadership programmes which are developmental ,social ,Economic and political this i think will change the life of persons affected by poor governance then they will decide by the votes. We have to move grassroot and build bases from there with tangible results not pledges like the ones we see during election times. It is a short idea but big and sober minds can discuss. We have to read movements like Hamas,Hezbollah they are working with people defeated or not.At whatever cost in national issues they have the weight and respected let FDC be for the people build schools to change UPE scheme build hospitals to combat maltreatment at mulago.

  5. The website is rather disappointing. I think it should be much better. Sure there should be many IT experts sympathetic to FDC. Use of expertise available to FDC is one of the few points of strength that the party should capitalize on in order to succeed.

  6. Friends,
Gen Muntu was on Radio One Fm this evening. I must say that he put across some of the issues affecting our country emphatically and ablely champion the need for change now.And that change will not come on a silver plate but through sacrifice. FDC seems to be ahead of other parties in challenging the status quo and in the practice of democracy. The leaders of our country today are obsessed with greed, intolerance, and drunk with power. As the General said they may not relinguish power even when they are defeated in election, and they have repeated said it before. That should even motivate us the more to work hard for change.
    Bravo to FDC

  7. Attn: FDC Leadership
I would like to know whether you are still selling party cards to raise more funds for our coming elections. I have been a supporter since 2001 todate and my support is not yet to stop.Personally i would like to buy one but since i live far from our party head office, i have failed to get a card. Remember i am not alone! Our financial support would come in the form of buying party cards. Feedback on this urgently needed. Thank you.
    Yours,
    Loyal party member.

  8. I would like to thank the team that has made it possible to have our website back. Many thanks.
As I write this message I cannot hide my pleasure in congratulating our Party victory in the just concluded Mbale Municipality bi-elections!! Bravo to you all! The Mbale people have challenged us in the whole country to come out and resist Museveni’s lust for political power which he has failed to understand and respect.
Long Live FDC, Long Live Democracy!

Oh God! I Love FDC. Francis.

  9. I urge all politicians not to compaign by scratching the back of personalities, but rather policies. Focus more on policy differences, government structures, enforcement of policies and the like. If you are talking about reducing administrative costs in government by eliminating some posts; advance how the structure has affected resource allocation to other priority area and how you intent to create jobs for those who will be affected by changing the structure; because if I know that I will loose my job when another person is in power, why not use all possible means to protect by job?

Many of us have no party affliations but we are all Ugandans! It is quite disturbing when I hear people talking about how they FOUGHT in the bush over 24 years ago! A father who talks about how he fought or how many people he killed, is tuning the mind of his children to be fighters and killers. Please talk about fighting skills and experiences to the right people, the solders, but not everyone, particularly the YOURH!

Make Uganda “THE PEARL OF AFRICA” a better place for all!

    Am a Patriotic Ugandan.

  10. As a democrat, I fully support and respect both the two FDC flag bearer contenders. However, what i am not happy about is is the language some party members are using like for example refering to our Party President Dr. Kizza Besigye not being different from Museveni because he is vying for the 2nd term as FDC flag bearer. This man Besigye has suffered the tear gas, the chains, jailing humiliations of blackout at radio stations and the killing of his borther Musasizi at the hands of Museveni. Guys let us be realistic and considerate. How can you compare museveni’s terms as president of Uganda with Besigye’s terms of opposition leadership of jail, exile in south africa, court trumped charges and black mambas besieges.
I support General Muntu as a capable leader who turned down M7 ministerial post because he had seen institutionalised corruption and later joining hands with the opposition although i dont mind why he was not with us during the 2001 election of beatings, harrassment, killings and court pettitions to mention a few.

Hon Muntu i salute u my brother and comrade, but please wait for 2016 when i will be vying for Kibale county constutuency against Museveni’s son Frank Tumwebaze.
President Besigye is my choice and i call upon all FDC members to support him. I have no doubt that he can beat M7 hands down come 2011 under the interparty cooperation and unite the party and lead the coalition government.

  12. When M7 says that ” he cannot be removed by a piece of paper” implying no matter what happens , government or presidency cannt be changed through an election . Can the Constitutional lawyers assist us to make a proper implmentation of the available laws and the constitution ( which a head of state must adhere to) because this kind of statement could lead to the inciting of violence if the population loose faith and confidence in the ability of of a siiting government being able to conduct a a free and fair “paper election”.Can one file a case in Court against the Presidency or again he can get away because as long as he is still president he is not prosecutable. Please any one out there to advise.

  13. Congragulations to all FDC delegates for the smooth conclusion of the Deleagates’ conference and the election of the party flag bearer for 2011 elections.
I would like to extend my congragulations to the the president elect;Dr.RTD Colonel Kiiza Besigye and RTD LT General;Mungish Muntu for the healthy elections.

The remaining task is now to kick start the campaign, mobilize Ugandans a as key resource to end the dictatorial regime of President Museveni.I would also advice the media wing of the party to make the web site known to Ugandans,by using the newspaper,TVs etc to be a platform for sharing ideas and informations.

The tsunami is coming for NRM in 2011,we are determine to root out the corrupt regime that is characterized by torture and with baseless detentions.

  14. By the way, we have a big electorate to win. I recently lost a sister to HIV but before she passed on, I had a glimpse into the deteriorating health services. First, the stigma and marginalization has taken on a new turn. two the paediatric HIV/AIDS care is non-existent in the rural areas. Can we come up with health care reforms to enhance universal access to ART for every Ugandan who is eligible and put in place a system to monitor its effective distribution? Please put in plae a solid package to market your health care and education with improved quality. Rural electrification is a failed venture. If a person has a grass thatched house and can not afford paraffin, how will they afford the wiring of their premises, buy the energy saving bulbs (4,000-20,000 each), I mean let us be serious. With the kind of billing where one bulb user pays 30,000/month, where on earth will a person who earns 1$/week be able to get the money to pay for power. is it a felt need or a political gimmick? Let us capitalize on what has failed and repackage them for messages that bring hope. Good luck

  15. I thank you FDC for the sacrifices youve made for democracy to thrive in Uganda. The struggle has just begun. I am a peace loving Ugandan who lives in California. The only way i get updates of what is happening is through your website which is not updated unfortunately. There are people in your leadership we would want to contact but any effort through the website ends in vain. We are behind your 2011 bid for presidency and victory is ours. One Uganda, one people”
